Everything you read about the bizarre order process and poor and rude customer service is true.

My order took 3 weeks to be delivered - when it showed "in stock" etc...and this is for a refurb product..go figure.

I have purchased several thousand of dollars worth of computers from lenovo.com using my Amex and shipping to my office (not my billing address) with no issues but ran in to so much grief when ordering a $300 desktop from the Outlet. The CS rep even got in to an argument with me and when I commented on poor customer service he said " I am with fraud prevention' not customer service. REALLY?

Anyways, prices are good if you can score something that's not offered with additional discounts for 1st quality stuff at lenovo.com.

Well, just received my refurb/scratch-n-dent B570 in less than 7 days. It was well-packed and appears to be in perfect running order. I'm happy with laptop and the delivery time.

Just ordered a B570 last night. I'm kind of surprised at how slow this process is after seeing the estimated ship date a week away. Maybe I've been ruined by Amazon and NewEgg, but without custom configurations I expected this to ship in a day or two max. After reading these comments I'm a bit worried.

I'll report back after I receive my laptop. Fingers crossed!

Just received a refurbished X220 from the Lenovo Outlet today! I purchased the laptop on Sunday night (it was a steal! fully loaded for less than what my student discount would be brand new), and the shipping estimate said Friday. It shipped on Friday just as estimated (although the site originally said that it'd be next Wednesday). I received my laptop Monday morning (shipped from North Carolina to Florida over the weekend).

Even though I wish it shipped a little sooner, overall I'm very pleased.

I have ordered from Lenovo Outlet on two separate occasions. The first was for a hard-to-find laptop battery for my aging Z60t that I luckily saw on their site. I got it in May 2010 for about 70% off retail. The second time was for a Thinkpad T410, right before the 2010 Christmas holidays. Both of these were refurbished. (How do you refurbish a battery?)

Other than having the shipment date delayed by a few days, I never had problems with either order. The battery and the laptop both arrived looking like they're new. I don't think the battery was even used at all.

I'm very happy with both purchases that I just ordered my third ThinkPad from Lenovo Outlet earlier tonight. But that was before I saw this site. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

OMG! JB and others tell unbelieveable but true accounts of how this company operates! I really thought I was the only one and in a bad dream as no tech company could possibly be this poor at handling orders in 2012, but they are. It's as if they are doing business 50-years ago before computers when companies didn't really know what they had in inventory at any given time. Lenovo is clueless. Before 2007 I bought dozens of IBM Thinkpads for my business yearly, but when Lenovo took over and immediatly screwed up with the delivery of their 1st new Lenovo Thinkpad (the X41 Tablet) and they didn't ship them for several months (yes months!) I took my business elsewhere. Now 5 years later they still have no customer service or inventory control. This won't happen to me with Len-Oh-No! again.

ordered a laptop on 01/25/2012 - first estimated ship date was one Feb. 1st.ship date came and went then got updated to the next week Feb 8th.

When that date came and went it got updated to Feb. 13th I called, they told me it will ship this week, and i asked if I could cancel if it did not ship, the rep said yes.

Needless to say it did not ship that week and the date was changed again to Feb 17th. I called and tried to cancel and they said I could not per their policy, only return for refund. To their credit they did say I would not be charged a restocking fee (15% I think) and they would pay for shipping if I decided to return it.

Then the ship date got reset to 1/25/2012 which was the order date. I chatted online and they said it would ship this week. they would not cancel and would not give me any compensation for the delay. Their policy also says there are not responsible for delays. So theoretically you could be waiting for years until they ship all the while needing a computer, not able to cancel your order....

Now the ship date is Feb 22/2012...I don't have much hope right now but we will see. At least I can get a refund (supposedly), but this is ridiculous. How can they expect to run a business this way.

IF you need a computer and need it on time DO NOT ORDER FROM LENOVO OUTLET!!!!!

Thank you posting this site BTW

So, just ordered a "scratch and dent" desktop from the outlet on Feb 2, 2012. Was told in my email receipt -- which I was glad to get, given earlier reviews - that it would have an expected ship date of Feb 8. That's today (as I write), but now my order status has a new updated expected ship date of Feb 13. Yikes, in light of what others have written, I'm nervous. The customer service chat person tells me that my actual order was sent to a warehouse on Feb 7, and it should be sent in 3 to 5 business days. I'll update and let this page know what happens. Thanks for the forum!

My observation: It just seems strange that the company that purchased an IBM brand could have such trouble (if it's trouble) in providing solid answers on their inventory. Isn't that one of the things computers were suppossed to fix back before they became disposable items?

ordered a T520 laptop on 01/27/2012. I received a confirmation right away, so they could be getting better, or maybe I just got lucky.

The computer arrived within a week and even though I ordered a refurbished machine, it appears brand new and even smells brand new, but with one minor issue. The specs clearly stated this computer had bluetooth, but it does not. However, given the prices of the computer and the fact that it is flawless in every other regard, I'll probably just buy a 14 bluetooth radio and install it myself.
